Earth has been rocked by devastating cataclysms in recent months. Residents in various countries have felt the powerful blows of the elements – people die en masse due to earthquakes, floods, storms and forest fires.
More than 2,000 people died in Libya as a result of the powerful storm “Daniel”. The disaster was caused by the collapse of the dam – the water level reached more than 3 meters. Whole neighborhoods with their inhabitants were washed into the sea.
In Greece, heavy rains and floods killed at least 10 people in central and northern parts of the country and caused billions of euros in damage, destroying property and leaving large areas without electricity and water.
Two people died as a result of the flood in the municipality of Tsarevo, in neighboring Bulgaria. A state of emergency was declared in the affected region, and the mass media reported the evacuation of 60 people.
China is suffering for the eighth day due to the rains caused by Typhoon Haikui, now a tropical storm. Low-lying areas are flooded, roads and people are blocked.
In low-rise buildings in the Guangxi region, the water level is more than 2 meters. Rescuers evacuated people from there. In some areas, the downpours led to landslides that destroyed roads and collapsed bridges.
Five people have already died in Spain due to a powerful storm. Local authorities say the bodies of three men have been found in the province of Toledo, south of Madrid. The body of one deceased was found in the garage elevator, the other – in the car. In addition, the body of a 50-year-old man was pulled from the drain.
Authorities are currently looking for a man who was traveling with his wife and two children in the Madrid region on Sunday night. The family’s car was swept away by the waters of the Alberche River, which overflowed its banks. The wife and daughter were able to escape, and the son spent several hours on a tree, from where he was evacuated by rescuers.
